Johannesburg is split into four regions The Northern suburbs, generally regarded as being more affluent - Hyde Park, Sandton, Parkmore, Benmore Gardens, Bramley, Saxonwold Parktown, Randburg, Gallo Manor, Byanston and Craighall.
Joburg central is undergoing a huge urban renewal with people buying entire buildings and developing fantastic loft apartments and luxurious inner city living. These up and coming area’s of Johannesburg include Berea and Jeppestown, but mainly Joburg central.
Older suburbs like Melville and Westdene have always attracted artistic shops and people and have a vibrant nightlife. The East Rand of Johannesburg has suburbs like Senderwood & Germiston, Boksburg and Benoni; where Charlize Theron hails from.
Vereeniging, Glenvista and Mondeor are in the South of Joburg and the West Rand area of Johannesburg contains Roodepoort.
